Opening Ceremony of Heung Yuen Wai Highway Held

On May 24, the Opening Ceremony for Heung Yuen Wai Highway in Hong Kong was held. Presided over by The ceremony was presided over by S.H. Lam- Permanent Secretary FOR Development (Works) of the Development Bureau of Hong Kong, the ceremony attracted a variety number of guests, including LAU Chun-kit- Director of Civil Engineering and Development of Hong Kong, Mable CHAN- Commissioner for Transport, CRBC President Assistant and General Manager of Hong Kong and Macao Branch and CRBC Vice President Wang Yanhua.

Heung Yuen Wai Highway was officially opened for traffic at 8: 00 a.m. on May 26. The whole section of Heung Yuen Wai Highway is extremely large in work quantity. For Lot 6 of Lin Tang/Heung Yuen Wai Boundary and related works undertaken by CRBC Hong Kong Branch, the viaduct bridge body has more than 2,800 prefabricated components, each weighing about 50 tons. Changshan Tunnel was excavated by blasting, with 320,000 tons of debris excavated. Among them, the sewage treatment plant was granted the Platinum Award for Green Building Environmental Impact Assessment (Version 1.2) for its sustainable design concept of “sustainable design to be considered at the beginning of the project”.

CRBC completed the Project ahead of schedule in less than 3 years backed by its excellent engineering technologies, efficient management level and sustainable environmental protection concept. The Project was highly praised by the owner and was specially introduced by government engineers on its official website.

After opening for traffic, Heung Yuen Wai Highway will certainly provide efficient cross-border passages between Hong Kong and the eastern Shenzhen, Huizhou and eastern Guangdong, and further improve the layout of the “one-hour living circle” in the Bay Area of Guangdong, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan.
