Madagascar’s President Hery Attends the Naming and Inauguration Ceremony for the Capital Airport Expressway Project Constructed by CRBC

On November 18, Mr. Hery Rajaonarimampianina – President of the Republic of Madagascar, led the speakers of the Senate and the House of Representatives, Prime Minister of the Government and over 20 Ministers of the Cabinet to cut the ribbon for the Capital Airport Expressway Project Phase I constructed by CRBC, and held the naming and inauguration ceremony for this project. Her Excellency Yang Xiaorong – the Chinese Ambassador to Madagascar, his Excellency Liang Shaomin – the Commercial Counsellor and Wang Lijun – CRBC Vice President were also present.

The ribbon-cutting site

President Hery made an inspection tour of the whole line and cut the ribbon for the project. Then, he walked to the monument carved with “Andohatapenaka Ring Road Project by CRBC” to name and unveil the nameplate for the project.

In his speech, President Hery spoke highly of and expressed his sincere thanks to CRBC. He said that CRBC could complete such a modern highway project in six months was the full embodiment of the Chinese speed, Chinese efficiency and Chinese quality.

Her Excellency Yang Xiaorong said she personally witnessed the startup and completion of this high-quality road equipped with modern service facilities and that she was proud of CRBC’s professional spirit in the project construction.

The Capital Airport Expressway, as the first expressway in Tananarive, the capital of Madagascar, is 19km long. The part which will be open to traffic in the first phase is 4.759km long, which will serve the 16th Sommet de la Francophonie, and connect the Summit Village and the downtown. It is the highest priority of this Summit. Its completion and opening to traffic will further improve the road network layout in Tananarive, enhance the traffic efficiency and relieve the traffic pressure.
