China Road and Bridge Corporation Ltd. Bangladesh office was founded in 1993, one of the earliest representative offices in oversea market.
Since the establishment of the office, CRBC Bangladesh office is consistent to practice the development policy of “credit first, quality first, never give-up, customer first” under the lead of headquarter in Beijing. After years of operation and endeavor, CRBC has successfully performed many civil works covering road, bridge and tunnel projects and created several historical records in Bangladesh market, such as the Luban Prize of China Oversea Engineering credited to the Sixth China-Bangladesh Friendship Bridge, the first mega-bridge reinforcement and repair work as well as operation and maintenance project for Bangabandhu Bridge and the unprecedented Multi-Lane Road Tunnel Project under the River Karnaphuli, Chittagong, Bangladesh.
Besides the business, CRBC is always passionate in fulfilling corporate social responsibility to build up a good image locally. As a loyal sponsor for the annual symposium of Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET), CRBC has donated a number of lab equipments to improve their civil lab condition in 2013. And CRBC also sponsored the 2015 IABSE-JSCE joint conference on advances in bridge engineering hosted by BUET.
Furthermore, as a sound response to CRBC’s 13th Five Year Plan and Five Core Business Sector, Bangladesh office actively explores the infrastructure construction work by means of PPP, BOT and other contracting mode together with the existing international competitive bidding project and EPC framework project. On Feb.18th, 2008, Prime Minister Mr. Fakhruddin Ahmed unveils the monument of the Sixth Bangladesh-China Friendship Bridge. He highly appreciates the traditional friendship between China and Bangladesh and acknowledges the unselfish assistance from China to aid the social-economical development of Bangladesh.
On Feb. 18th, 2008, the then Chinese Ambassador in Bangladesh Mr. Zheng Qingdian inaugurates in the opening ceremony of the Sixth Bangladesh-China Friendship Bridge. He says the construction of the bridge has exerted a positive influence on the economy development of Bangladesh, and most importantly, it has built up a bridge of friendship between the two nations.
On June 19th, 2016, Chief Representative of Bangladesh office, Mr. Wu Guangsheng and Chief Engineer from Bangladesh Bridge Authority, Mr. Kabir Ahmed jointly sign the commercial contract of “Engaging Operator for Operation and Maintenance of Bangabandhu Bridge and Associated Works for 5(Five) Years”.
On April 27th, 2013, Bangladesh Transportation Minister Obaidul Quader and Charge D'Affaires Mr. Qu Guangzhou from the Chinese Embassy in Bangladesh jointly attend the Bangabandhu Bridge Re-opening ceremony. The minister speaks highly of the contribution we have made in Bangladesh and points that the completion of the work is a typical cooperation of Chinese-Bangladesh People.
Experts from Bangladesh Bridge Technical Committee are on site visit to inspect the carbon fiber binding work on the bridge deck.
The commercial contract of the multi-lane road tunnel under the river karnaphuli is inked by the chairman of China Communications Construction Company, Ltd., Liu Qitao and secretary of Bangladesh Bridge Authority, Khandker Anwarul Islam under the witness of minister of China Ministry of Transportation, Mr. Yang Chuantang and his counterpart from Bangladesh, Mr. Obaidul Quader in the VIP hall of the China Ministry of Communication.
