CCCC President Assistant Wang Jian Leads an Expert Team to Conduct a Survey on the Mombasa-Nairobi Standard Gauge Railway Project and Gives Instructions

From March 13 to March 16, Wang Jian - CCCC President Assistant, Chief Security Officer and General Manager of Road, Bridge and Rail Transit Business Department led an expert team to conduct a survey on the Mombasa-Nairobi Standard Gauge Railway Project and gave instructions. CRBC Vice President Li Quanhuai, Sun Liqiang - CRBC Vice President and General Manager of Mombasa-Nairobi Standard Gauge Railway Project and Li Qiang - CRBC Vice President and General Manager of Kenya Office were also present in this survey.

The expert team conducts a survey at the construction site of Mombasa-Nairobi Standard Gauge Railway Project.

On March 13, the expert team held a kick-off meeting at the office building of the General Manager Department of Mombasa-Nairobi Standard Gauge Railway Project. Relevant responsible people of the Mombasa-Nairobi Standard Gauge Railway Project made a report to the expert team, covering the project overview, construction organization arrangement, construction progress, key work at the next step and problems the expert team was needed to coordinately solve.

From March 14 to March 15, the expert team went deep into the nine sections of the whole project line, making a detailed survey on the management of field construction corps, technical management, key project schemes, subcontracting situation and cost control, and also inspected the safety, quality and civilized construction at the site.

On the morning of March 16, at the closing meeting of this survey, the expert team put forward suggestions on the follow-up management of construction corps, technical management and safety and quality management. Mr. Wang Jian, in the concluding remarks, raised the specific requirements for the safety and quality control, technical research and development, design improvement and optimization, station front project acceptance inspection, station rear construction preparation and project culture construction, etc.  He stressed that since the Mombasa-Nairobi Standard Gauge Railway Project had an important strategic significance and a profound political influence, the project department should carefully organize the construction, improve the management level, efficiently present the project result at a high level and set an example for the construction management of the follow-up projects of CCCC.
