10/19/2017

The Project was commenced on August 1, 2016, and is expected to be completed in the first half of 2018. The Three-runway System is an important capital construction project that supports the long-term development of the aviation industry and economy in Hong Kong. Existing dual-runway system in Hong Kong International Airport is to be saturated, so it is urgent to expand the airport. After the third runway is put into use, the airport can accommodate 30 million extra passengers on an annual basis, and achieve the annual passenger capacity of about 100 million person-times and freight volume of 9 million tons, satisfying the long-term air traffic demands of Hong Kong. Upon completion, the Project will further accelerate the development of Hong Kong’s economy.
