At the opening ceremony, Senegal President and Touba Khalifah cut ribbons for THIES-TOUBA Toll Expressway. Senegal President noted in his speech that, as the largest infrastructure project of Senegal since its independence, THIES-TOUBA Toll Expressway is now a landmark project in “Revitalizing Senegal” and will dramatically facilitate the transportation in Touba and drive the economic and social development of inland cities.
As noted by Ambassador Zhang Xun, completed and opened for traffic 9 months ahead of schedule, THIES-TOUBA Toll Expressway will further improve the expressway network in Senegal, closely connects the coastal cities with inland ones, facilitate people’s travel and cargo logistics, especially pilgrimages in Touba, and boost the economic and social development of regions along the line, which is of great significance for Senegal.
