Serbian Presidents Attends Project Commencement Ceremony

On the afternoon of May 17, CRBC President Du Fei accompanied CCCC President Song Hailiang in attending the Commencement Ceremony of Phase II (Preljina-Pozega) Project of E-763 Expressway in Serbia. Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić and Chinese Ambassador to Serbia Chen Bo attended the ceremony. H.E. Vučić, Chen Bo and Song Hailiang addressed the ceremony.

H.E. Vučić noted that the Sorkin-Obrenovac Section of E-763 Expressway undertaken by CCCC and CRBC is the model project in Serbia’s infrastructure construction sector and is expected to be completed by the end of 2019 ahead of schedule. As both CCCC and CRBC are responsible, competent and trustworthy partners, he believed that CCCC and CRBC will give full play to their advantages to create Phase II (Preljina-Pozega) Project of E-763 Expressway another landmark project in Serbia. After the Government of Serbia opens the Čačak-Obrenovac Expressway for traffic by the end of the year, a variety of regions along the line will be included in the one-hour economic circle of Belgrade, thus further accelerating people’s travel and boosting local economic development. China plays an important role in helping Serbia attain the dream that yearned for by its people for over 70 years.

President Vučić Addresses the Ceremony

In his speech, Song Hailiang emphasized that CCCC has expanded its businesses to over 150 countries along the “Belt and Road” and keeps improving its market share, production capacity and core competiveness, with many of its projects well-received by local government and people as the symbols of close friendship and rapid development. He further noted that CCCC and CRBC will, as always, spare no effort to complete Phase II Project of E763 Expressway as scheduled with the great support from the Government of Serbia and Chinese Embassy in Serbia.

Wang Jingchun- Secretary of CPC Party Committee and Executive President of CCCC Overseas Business Department, Zhang Xiaoyuan- CRBC Vice President and General Manager of CRBC Central and Eastern Europe Regional Center, and other relevant personnel were also present.

Located in southwestern Serbia, Phase II (Preljina-Pozega) Project of E-763 Expressway is a dual-way four-lane expressway with the main line measuring about 31km and designed speed of 120km/h, which involves the construction of 3 tunnels, 35 bridges and 3 interchanges. The expected project duration is about 3 years.
