CRBC Signs Contract for the LIKONI Floating Bridge Project

Date: 05/05/2020

Recently, CRBC and Kenya National Highway Administration signed the construction contract of the LIKONI Floating Bridge Project in Mombasa, Kenya.

Funded by the government of Kenya, the Project mainly include construction of a pedestrian bridge stretching from north to south in LIKONI area of Mombasa, with a total length of 660 meters.

The Kenyan government has recently promulgated a series of epidemic prevention and control measures, such as restrictions on transport capacity and curfews, resulting in surging pressure on ferry traffic from north to south in the LIKONI region of Mombasa. Upon learning of the situation, the Office of Kenya promptly contacted with the Government of Kenya and proposed the construction of a pedestrian floating bridge. This plan has taken into account such aspects as timeliness, economy, reliability and practicality, and has been fully affirmed by the Kenyan government.

The Office of Kenya will actively carry out the design work and construction of the Project, strive to complete the Project at an early date, and contribute its part in the prevention and control of COVID-19 outbreak in Kenya.
