Three Agreements for Mohammed VI Tangier Tech City Project in Morocco Signed

On November 3, CCCC, CRBC and CCCC Investment signed the Share Participation Agreement, Shareholder Agreement and EPC Contract for Mohammed VI Tangier Tech City Project in Morocco with BANK OF AFRICA – BMCE Group, Tanger Med Special Agency(TMSA), and the Region of Tanger-Tetouan-Al Hoceima through video.  Chairman of BANK OF AFRICA – BMCE Group Othman Benjelloun, Chairman of the supervisory board of TMSA Fouad Brini, Regional council’s President of Tanger-Tetouan-Al Hoceima Fatima El Hassani, and CCCC Vice President Chen Zhong attended and addressed the ceremony. Among other attendees were CRBC Chairman Lu Shan, Vice President Wang Lijun, Chief Engineer Sun Yaoguo, CCCC Investment General Manager Cai Fengxiang, and CCCC Overseas Business Department Vice President Liang Qingshan.

Benjelloun expressed his appreciation for CCCC’s remarkable achievements in various fields, especially its power strength in integrated investment, building and operation of industrial parks and urban comprehensive development. He noted that the Mohammed VI Tangier Tech City Project keeps in line with the development strategies of China and Morocco, and that strong complementary advantages of the two countries’ industries guarantee their promising cooperation prospect. The Project will further promote the economic development, deepen the economic and trade cooperation, and accelerate the upgrade of industrial cooperation between China and Morocco.

Chen Zhong noted that CCCC, as an important participant, constructor and contributor of the “Belt and Road” construction, will seek common development with global partners in line with the principle of achieving shared growth through discussion and collaboration. CCCC is willing to give full play to its advantages in integration of the whole industry chain and join hands with Morocco to establish all-round cooperation and to accelerate the smooth progress of the Project, thus achieving the grand visions of heads of two states and better benefiting their people.

With a planned area of 2,167ha, the Mohammed VI Tangier Tech City Project is located in the region of Tanger-Tetouan-Al Hoceima, Morocco. It is envisioned as a comprehensive modern industrial city combining such functions as industry, commerce, residence, public services, entertainment and leisure. The Project, as a model project symbolizing the cooperation between China and Morocco, will be the highlight of the two countries’ joint efforts in “Belt and Road” construction, which will play an important role in demonstrating and leading the production capacity cooperation between China and Morocco.
