Erection of Box Girder for Nairobi Expressway Project in Kenya Launched

On December 21, with the first piece of box girder stably falling on the support, the Nairobi Expressway Project in Kenya opened the curtain of the box girder erection, and the project construction entered a new stage.

Since the commencement of construction, the expressway project department has planned ahead of time, organized and made overall arrangements scientifically, focused on epidemic prevention and control and highlighted key routes, steadily pushed forward construction and production, and fulfilled the annual tasks and targets ahead of schedule, laying a solid foundation for the smooth completion of the Project.


Project renderings

The Nairobi Expressway Project, with a total length of 27.1 km and a franchise period of 30 years, connects the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, the Nairobi Station of Mombasa-Nairobi SGR, the Nairobi Ring Road, and the downtown area. After completion, the Project, being the first toll road in Kenya, will greatly ease the traffic congestion in Nairobi, drive the integrated development of Nairobi and surrounding cities and towns, and accelerate the modernization of infrastructure and the process of economic and social development in Kenya, benefiting the local people.
