Pakistani PM Attends Commencement Ceremony of Rashakai SEZ
Date: 06/04/2021On May 28, the Commencement Ceremony of Phase I Construction Project of the Rashakai Special Economic Zone in Pakistan was held. Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan attended the ceremony and inaugurated the Project. Among other attendees were Pakistani Defense Minister, President of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor Authority, Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province, Nong Rong- Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan, and Sun Yaoguo- Chief Engineer of CRBC.
Prime Minister Imran Khan Addresses the Ceremony
In his address, Prime Minister Imran Khan noted that China has witnessed leapfrog development in industrialization level over the past decades and presented many valuable references to Pakistan. He also pointed out that it is of great significance for Pakistan to co-build the Rashakai Special Economic Zone with China under the framework of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor. As he noted, Rashakai Special Economic Zone is now attracting investors from China, Pakistan and other countries with its one-stop services and preferential policies offered by the Pakistani government, which will accelerate the export-oriented industrial development, create considerable number of jobs, and revitalize the economy of Pakistan.
Nong Rong Addresses the Ceremony
Nong Rong congratulated on the commencement of Rashakai Special Economic Zone, noting that cooperation on establishment of industrial park is the key to the high-quality development of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor, and Rashakai Special Economic Zone is of promising prospect resorting to its obvious location advantages. Rashakai Special Economic Zone can effectively integrate resources, cultivate competitive industrial clusters and increase exports, thus helping Pakistan achieve sustainable development. The establishment of Rashakai Special Economic Zone will promote the deep industrial cooperation between China and Pakistan, and drive the local economic development.
On the ceremony, Sun Yaoguo accepted the Special Contribution Award presented by Prime Minister Imran Khan together with representatives of other enterprises residing in the Rashakai Special Economic Zone.
