During his visit, President Ruto entered the main stadium to inspect the progress of roof works, seat installation and auxiliary facilities. He also joined in a casual football kick on-site, showing his full recognition and support for the project. President William Ruto lauded the project, describing it as impressive and world-class. He pointed out that despite doubts in the early stage of development, the Kenyan Government honored its commitments and offered solid support to the contractor. At present, construction advances steadily with tangible outcomes. Once completed, the project will greatly upgrade Kenya’s infrastructure capacity and boost the country’s sports influence across Africa and the world.

Located in Nairobi, the capital of Kenya, Talanta Sports City is a 60,000-seat professional football stadium fully compliant with FIFA standards. Serving as the core venue for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations co-hosted by Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania, the stadium will stage the tournament’s opening and closing ceremonies and key fixtures. Undertaken by CRBC and developed for the Owner Kenyan Ministry of Defence, the project started construction in March 2024 under an EPC contracting model. Construction work is advancing steadily, and the main stadium is scheduled for substantial completion by the end of March 2026.
