On May 31, his Excellency Wang Yong- special envoy of President Xi Jinping and State Councilor took the passenger train of Mombasa-Nairobi SGR, and inspected the Mombasa Port Station.

His Excellency Wang Yong- Special Envoy of President Xi Jinping and State Councilor fully recognized the achievements made in Mombasa-Nairobi SGR Project, and spoke highly of the efforts made by CCCC in construction of Mombasa-Nairobi SGR, and contributions made for the development of the relationship between China and Kenya.

At Mombasa Port Station, his Excellency Wang Yong- Special Envoy of President Xi Jinping and State Councilor listened to the conditions of Mombasa-Nairobi SGR, East Africa Railway Network, Mombasa Free Trade Zone, Mombasa Port and economic corridors along the Mombasa-Nairobi SGR made by CCCC President Chen Fenjian, and understood the management approaches and innovative highlights during the construction of Mombasa-Nairobi SGR. He noted that, during project construction, it is required to continuously enrich the Chinese elements, spread the Chinese cultures, carry forward the “Silk Road Spirit”, consistently carry forward the social responsibilities of central enterprises, establish win-win cooperation with the host countries in line with the principle of “wide consultation, joint contribution and shared benefits”, practically plan the free trade zone, give full play to the leading role of Mombasa-Nairobi SGR, and continue to strengthen the friendship between China and Kenya.

Moreover, he extended his congratulations on the successful handover and smooth operation of Mombasa-Nairobi SGR, conveyed his concerns to all personnel engaged in construction, and hoped that CCCC and CRBC could forge ahead to make more contributions to the construction of the “Belt and Road”.
