Mainstream Media of China and Kenya Reported Mombasa-Nairobi SGR’s Contribution to Fight against Epidemic in Kenya

Since the outbreak of COVID-19, the African Star Railway Operation Co., Ltd. has made resolute decisions to actively respond to the situation, communicated and coordinated with various parties, and taken various measures to guarantee its operation. In the first quarter of 2020, Mombasa-Nairobi SGR opened 1,187 freight trains, with an average of 13 per day, carrying 96,000 standard cases and sending 7,365 tons of bulk cargos. From April 20 to 25, 15.3 freight trains were opened weekly on average, an increase of 19% year on year, thus achieving excellent shipping performance.

Over the past month, Mombasa-Nairobi SGR has delivered 52 standard cases of anti-epidemic supplies such as alcohol and disinfectant, 732 standard cases of bulk grain and goods of different categories imported and exported, totaling 22,143.6 tons, which contributed CRBC’s efforts to Kenya in fighting against the epidemic.

Recently, a number of mainstream media of China and Kenya have reported Mombasa-Nairobi SGR’s contribution to fight against the epidemic in Kenya.
