Bangabadhu Bridge Repair Project in Bangladesh

As the longest bridge then in South Asia, Bangabandhu Bridge is 4.8km long in total, consisting of 50 piers, for highway-railway purpose, and was completed and opened to traffic on 23 June, 1998. Over years of operations there have been many cracks in the interior of box girders. And with the passing of time, the problem of the cracks are reported to be more and more severe. This project was designed to strengthening the superstructure of the Bangabandhu Bridge. The construction started on May 24, 2015, and the construction period is one year.
