Basic information of the project

NR1 is the only grade road in Togo territory across north-south, starting from Lomé in the south and ending at the Sinkassé bordering Burkina Faso. Throughout Togo, it extends over a distance nearly of 700 km. The reconstruction road of NR1 located at the Alédjo and Défalé, the rebuilt part is divided into 2 sections at Alédio length of 17.2km, the first section of which is 8.9km and the second 8.3km. The total length of the reconstruction part at Défalé is 12.1km.

The renovation accorded to the secondary standard of Chinese road grade, 9m width for the roadbed, 7m breadth for the road surface. The traffic lane is 2 × 3.5m and the width of the shoulder is 1m. The pavement structure, from top to bottom, is 5cm medium grain asphalt concrete, 20cm cement-stabilized red gravel for the basic level, 15cm red gravel base, including four medium bridges and drainage, protection and security works. The project was completed in 2014.
