Gilgit Bridge in Pakistan

Effect picture of the Project

The project is located in the hinterland of Pamirs and the main mountains are karakoram, the Himalayas, the Hindu kush. The altitude of start point and end point of the project are 1154m and 4733m respectively. The steep mountains, deep-cutting gorge, fast-moving river and snow-covered mountain are the main features of this terrain. The elevation difference between range and gorge is usually more than 1000m.

In August 2008, the old Gilgit bridge (K538+650) collapsed suddenly due to seriously scouring and eroding, which led to the traffic blocked completely. CRBC swiftly organized the personnel to construct the Bailey bridge and completed it on November 29, 2008. The chief secretary and other officials of Gilgit spoke highly of the great achievement made by CRBC in these 3 months.
