Commerce Minister Zhong Shan Inspects Kenya Railway Project via Video Conferencing

On September 22, Commerce Minister Zhong Shan, Vice Commerce Ministers Yu Jianhua and Li Yangzhe, etc. inspected the Kenya railway projects via video conferencing, and watched the construction conditions of tunnels of Nairobi-Maraba SGR Project.

Li Qiang- CRBC Vice President and CPC Secretary of the Project reported to Minister Zhong Shan, and introduced the overall progress, great significance, performance of social responsibility of the railway projects in Kenya, as well as the operation of Mombasa-Nairobi SGR. Meanwhile, he introduced the planning and impact of Nairobi-Maraba SGR. After completion, the Nairobi-Maraba SGR will become the trunk connecting numerous inland countries in East Africa, and is of great significance for the acceleration of regional economy. CRBC Vice President Li Qiang noted that CRBC will continue to satisfactorily build and operate the East Africa Railway Network to present remarkable achievements for the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China.

After listening to the report and watching the on-site construction, Minister Zhong Shan expressed his concerns about all the front-line construction personnel. He noted that it is extremely exciting that CRBC has made remarkable achievements in railway projects in Kenya, and that this international leading railway built with Chinese standard will set up a good image for Chinese enterprises, and make positive contributions to the implementation of “Go Global” strategy. He hoped that CRBC could forge ahead to make more achievements.
