Pakbeng Mekong River Bridge in Laos is Completed and Open to Traffic

On March 5, the Pakbeng Mekong River Bridge in Laos constructed by CRBC in EPC mode was formally completed and was open to traffic.

Pakbeng Mekong River Bridge is 379m long and 13m wide, and it is a two-way two-lane bridge with a designed driving speed of 60km/h. The construction of this bridge started on December 23, 2012. After more than 3 years’ efforts, it successfully passed the completion inspection on February 29, 2016.

Pakbeng Mekong River Bridge is the transportation connection link between Oudomxay and Sainyabuli in Laos and also an important connection point of the land transportation from Yunnan, China to Northern Thailand via Laos. After its completion, the bridge will change the history of traveling by only ferry between the two provinces, greatly improve the travel of residents in the two provinces; besides, it will improve the land transportation conditions among China, Laos and Thailand, strengthen the connections among the three countries and promote the economic development and cultural communication of the three countries.
